Dr Navid Suberi: I was working across a number of specialist practices and was thinking seriously about building my own practice. But I was genuinely unsure of which route to take and where to go. I was seeking guidance from several different experts, trying to piece it together, until I met Rahul. We connected at a laser course, got talking, one thing led to another, and I joined the programme. The rest, as they say, is history.
Dr Navid Suberi: The very first thing we did was write down the vision and the mission statement. That sounds straightforward, but it was transformative — knowing exactly what we want to do, and which road to take to get where we want to be. From there, we put systems in place to measure and monitor what we are doing, and to make sure the staff and the team are familiar with those systems and feel ownership over them.
Dr Navid Suberi: It was the insistence on writing it down — and then revisiting it regularly with the team, to make sure we are still on the right track, and to identify whether any changes are needed before it is too late. That discipline did not just change the way I was approaching things. It is also future-proofing where we want to go and what we want to do. It keeps the whole practice honest.
Dr Navid Suberi: Do not hesitate. I spent time seeking guidance from many different sources before I found the right people. Once you find the right mentors and the right framework, the path becomes so much clearer. The results are measurable — there are several practices, including mine, that are proof of what becomes possible when you put the right systems in place and the right people in your corner.
